Tips for Conversation (6-10)
1. Start a conversation with your child and tell them that you got a notification that they used sexual words while playing video games.
2. If you talked with your child before about this issue, you should explain that sexual words are offensive to others. Let them know this behavior needs to stop.
3. Don’t be alarmed. It’s common for kids to experiment with sexual language during elementary school, and they may find it easier to use it over computer games than in person.
4. Ask why they used sexualized words-is it because other gamers used it? They want to be funny?
5. Tell them that even if their friends think that this is funny or do this regularly, it is not something you support in your family.
